Well, I got the other 3 classes I'm taking out of the way today. This time, all my professors are female.
First class was Civ. 1. This professor wanted our schedule and some other information, like were we working and when, do we have any special needs, any global perspectives? I answered all these questions. School is my job. I'm manic depressive but and I'm not going to let it stop me this time, and I was a military brat that never got to travel but my father has some great stories about his tours of Egypt and Korea. I was snarky! I couldn't help it. There's a lot of reading for this class but it shouldn't be as hard as the Honors Civ. I had with this professor in 1998.
English 1102 was next. I have a research paper for it!
I really don't like research papers. I'll survive it. I've survived them before.
This professor is something different, that I can tell, but serious about the course. She told us she loves pop quizes. She pretty much hinted there will be one Friday.
The final course is Computer Science 1060. There are only 2 females student in my 1060 class. I'm one. A little scary if I stop and think about it. This professor can't be too much older than me. She's foreign, too - India. However, her accent isn't as heavy as my Chinese professor from last semester. I know that bugged some people last semester but it doesn't really bother me.
However, she explained that this course is a programing course. The school has changed it since I originally took it in 1998 and they haven't gotten around to changing the course description and title!
When I took 1060 in 1998, it was a course to understand the concept of programming and to learn to use a computer. It's not that course any more. I'm miffed about that but I'm going to duke it out. It's a beginning programming course and I can't handle it, maybe I don't need to major in information technology. Or if I don't too so well in it, I'm just going to scrap it and take 1050. I can only get credit or 1050 or 1060.
Prior to coming home, I stopped at 3 different office supply stores to price RAM and printers. I found some RAM for my computer for $40.00 per 128MB and a nice printer for $40.00 to boot at the same store. That's great for me. I might be able to get 256 Mb extra for my computer. Plus the 56MB I already do have, that will give me 312 total to play around with. That will suit me.
And while on the subject of RAM, I knew it to be an answer to a question asked in my 1060 course. I actually understood today's lesson.
Here's a friendly health reminder from me here at ShawnAllison.com: When they say don't put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear, they mean it.
I usually clean my very waxy ears with a cotton swab. Well, I don't know what happened with my left ear as I was cleaning it out last night but it's very muffled.
I'm relying on my right ear to hear things. I can tell I'm missing some sounds that I would usually hear. It's mainly background noise. I'm hoping and thinking it will clear up in a few days. I don't think I'll be using a swab ever again. I'll have to find an ear cleaning kit at the store.
That's about it from me for now. I hope to have a Thearch later. However, I do need to read for my classes. ![]()

School...*shudders* Today was my first day at AASU and I am beat. I have Engl 1101, Hist 1112/Civics 2, Math 0077, and Art 1100. I'm loving all of my teachers so far. Lots of homework already though.
E-mail me and we'll have lunch or something.
Heh. Pop quizzes--I was playing the semi-evil TA this morning as I was handing them out. I say semi-evil because the quizzes won't be part of the grade but if you get all the answers correct the prof will give you a gift certificate to some place I've never even heard of.

Gennie, I've taken English 1101 and History 1102 already. There's a good chance you might have the same Civ professor that I had.
