Tragedy of College Student Suicide. When I was looking into colleges in high school, one college, Gordon College in Georgia, had on it's application a question of mental health. At the time, I didn't think it was their business and didn't bother to apply. Kim, Nancy's daughter that I was in Girl Scouts with in Augusta, went to Gordon. Nancy later explained to my mother they asked that question to provide health services to those that need them. Looking back now, that's probably what I needed. Maybe I could have gone to Tech if there was a support system for troubled and depressed people like myself and/if I knew about it. Just as well. I'm happy at Armstrong at the moment. However, I do think it's important to spread the word about getting people the mental health they need. It's such a shame it costs and arm and a leg to get the care to be happy content.
As for Savannah's own Lifetime movie: Shooting victim remains critical and Attorney: Miss Savannah shot boyfriend in self defense. The local article mentions that 20/20 and 48 Hours are interested in covering this story. Notice the second article is an AP wire story and not a local story. Looks like this case is getting bigger. According to the AP story, she won't lose her crown unless convicted. However, in my eyes, this tarnishes the image of "Miss Savannah."

I'm not sure how much of a support system colleges *can* get on campus with the current rise in health care costs. But here's hoping.

Our school has been posting little notices about their little support system. I should check it out and see next semester.
