They might have better production values than the original movie version but the war wasn't as fresh on the mind in those years as it was in 1928-1930. I think the movie being in black and white and being filmed about 10 years after the war help make the impact it did have on me.

"Welch's girl" - I don't understand why people think she's the spawn of Satan.

"The Zimmerman Telegraph in WWI" - Something that was not mentioned at all in my book this semester. Oh, when I wrote my evaluation for that class, I let it be known I wasn't happy about it.
