And what did I do? I go to Hollywood Video at 10:30 at night and rent a movie. I would have Netflixed it but Holiday isn't available on DVD, yet. So, Hollywood Video it is.
Actually, I've been wanting to actually sit down and watch some of Katharine Hepburn's old movies from the 1930s. I think I have a secret thing for that time period. Just last week I watched Annie. Anyways, I Netflixed The Philadelphia Story and got Holiday.
Holiday was quite a change from what all the later day movies I'm accustomed to watching. I want it as soon as it's on DVD. I quite enjoyed it. Forget money and "Julia," give me "The Potters," "Linda," and "Ned" any day. They understood life.
Money is nice but what good is it if you can enjoy yourself? Glad to see that "Johnny" stuck to his guns in the end.
While at Hollywood video, I noticed The NeverEnding Story playing on the TVs there. I remarked to my father, who came with me at my mother's request so I would be safe, that I never liked that movie as a child. My father remarked I probably didn't get it or got as much meaning as I want from it. Maybe he's right, but it also bored me. The guy behind the counter said it was one of his favorite movies. He was preplexed that I remarked I didn't enjoy it as a child. Hey, we all have one movie others enjoyed and we didn't. That's just one for me. ![]()
I have decided after all to take the test Thursday and completed the study guide for it. It didn't take long at all for me to complete. I left question number one to be the last one I answered. I'm really taking the test since I'm not happy with the 89 grade I have, even after my professor said I will probably get an A. Well, I guess I have nothing to lose, then.
Boy, am I hyper tonight.
It must be the fact our cable is back.
Or maybe it's the fact my birthday is Sunday, er tomorrow? ![]()

Happy Birthday, early! Ya know, here it's still Friday, so you've got two days, or actually one day and 14 minutes... Happy birthday anyway!!
I've never seen "The Neverending Story" but I have read the book and boy was that an eyestrain. It was printed in different colors to differentiate fantasy and reality. And each chapter's first word was culled from the alphabet (i.e. the first word of chapter 1 started with "a", the first word of chapter 2 started with "b" etc.)--for what it's worth, I didn't really like the story either.
Posted by: sya at December 6, 2003 10:19 AMI hated the Neverending Story - HATED it. The whole quicksand scene traumatized me for life. I was only 6, and thus most likely didn't get the movie...but I don't think I want to get it. I was also worried, since it was "Neverending" that we'd have to watch it everyday for the rest of our lives.
Happy (almost) birthday!
Posted by: Chewie at December 6, 2003 10:23 AMThanks, Stacey.
And Naomi, thanks, too. I stopped at your site and left you an eProp.
Sya and Chewie, glad to know I'm not the only person out there that didn't enjoy it!
I like the song released for the movie but not the movie. I never read the book nor had the desire to.
I liked NES but it does tend to drag. Some parts are pretty slow and I can see why a child would get bored. And now... It's technically Sunday now so....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I loved "The Never ending Story". I had the biggest crush on the main character. I have nooo idea why. The quicksand scene saced the crap out of me too.
Posted by: Ash at December 8, 2003 4:32 PMMy sister loved the movie so there was no escaping it. I just chose to watch TV in another room or played My Little Pony.
