That means you CBS!
My father & I were watching the Tennessee Titans game when in the fourth quarter, CBS decides that we should watch the end of the Miami/New England game.
My father called CBS in New York to complain. (You have to love the 'Net to be able to find phone numbers!) My father is still livid over this and now the New Yawkers have not only ripped his game but then refused to listen to his complaint. They couldn't/wouldn't comprehend that he had invested 50 minutes to this game.
Oh, it gets better!
If next week's game between Jacksonville & Tennessee is a blow out, since Savannah IS NOT an NFL market, CBS might yank that game for another game that is probably more exciting! ![]()
Do these damn TV networks not understand that by pulling this crap they are pissing off the consumers?
And when they call to complain and you refuse to listen you just piss the little man even more?
My father & I are more insulted by the New Yawk arrogance of the man he spoke to at CBS than the game being yanked. We little people are the ones that end up supporting these networks. All they are doing is blemishing they reputations in our eyes.
I'd type more for now, but I'm on my old computer without a space bar. I should go get my keyboard since it's not being used for now.

Ah yes, but the viewers aren't the consumers...those are the people who buy the ads. They really don't care what you think.
Posted by: Chewie at October 19, 2003 6:25 PMOh, but without us, there would be no one to watch commercials in the first place.
If you don't give a care, that's fine but at least sound like you care and understand. That appeases people a majority of the time. I know, I did that at my old job when I didn't know anything or I couldn't help a person. This New Yawker did not even try to let my father voice his complaint. He got ugly with my father.
My father ended up calling the local affliate, too. Of course, he got the same thing from them as he did from New Yawk but at least the local guy listened to my father and understood where my father was coming from. That's all my father really wanted.
I know, for the most part, we don't matter. Yet, all it takes is one person to stand up for what they believe in.
Posted by: Shawn at October 19, 2003 7:02 PMit has nothing to do with sports but NBC just up and decided to switch Third Watch from Monday nights to Friday nights (in SVU's former timeslot), starting Halloween night. Usually that is the kiss of death for a show that is extremely good but doesn't get enough promotion as it is. For the past couple days, other TW'ers and I were really freaked out, totally worried. Now we just hope that this actually is a good move for Third Watch's ratings. Up against Monday Night Football, Everybody Loves Raymond(I don't) and CSI:Miami, TW was floundering.
All this for what? Another DUMBASS reality show. It's just a six-week run for sweeps but still... gotta keep remembering that TW has been moved so many times over the past 4 years and has still survived. I just hope NBC's execs don't look at this coming Friday night's ratings as a sign to axe TW. I mean really, that's Halloween...not enough people are gonna be watching it except us DIEHARD TW'ers.
This makes me nervous, angry and feeling a little betrayed.
Posted by: misbah kyrene at October 20, 2003 3:31 AMMisbah, I heard that nothing on Friday night this season for NBC is doing well as Law & Order: SVU did. NBC is probably hoping that since Third Watch is a popular show but isn't doing well on Monday nights, moving it to Friday will not only help the show but help the night's ratings, too.
Posted by: Shawn at October 20, 2003 12:49 PMno one you know loves Third Watch more than I do! I've got a lot at stake here. LMAO!! ;) So I hope that you are right.
speaking of which, it's Monday and guess what's on tonight! hehehe...my bro is actually watching it with me tonight. Rapper DMX is guest-starring so that got my brother's attention.

That's great, Misbah. I hope the Friday move works out well for your show. I noticed on Friday, they re-ran Tuesday's SVU.
