Yesterday, my neighbors had a picnic in the afternoon. It started while I was well into the San Francisco Giants/Florida Marlins game. After about 15 minutes there, I was going home to check on the game but my neighbor said I could turn on their TV to watch. I saw the Marlins break the tie and send the Giants home. Those home-plate collisions were something!
After that game ended, I switched over to the Atlanta Braves/Chicago Cubs game. Quite a few of us there had an interest in that game.
All during that game, I went back and forth from the game to the small party outside. It was a fun little picnic. I had chips, a hot dog, a hamburger, and a big piece of cake. I drank plenty of water. I was stuffed. And during that game, we all talked a bit.
Most of the guys ended up talking about comic books they enjoyed as kids and how the are being ruined now. That conversation broke up when Smoltz was pitching to end the game. After that game, I switched over to that crazy Oakland A's/Boston Red Sox game. They guys went back to talking.
The picnic was cool. I came home with a sore jaw not from eating, but all the talking I did.
It was fun. I came home and read up on the games I watched at the picnic, plus watched the end of the wacky Boston game. Then, I watched Saturday Night Live. Jack Black wasn't that funny. I really watched it for John Mayer.
- He looked good on it. The Yankees cartoon on it was quite funny until the new Yankee start eating the Oakland A's. After SNL went off, I went to bed. I couldn't stay up much longer.
As for baseball, that BoSox/A's was crazy! Eric Byrnes, I know he was hurt, but that was just stupid! Even if you think you're out or safe, make sure you tag home. It shouldn't hurt to tag it more than once. You never know! Will this Game 3 go down in Oakland like the Giambi non-slide in 2001?
For the Braves/Cubs, glad to see it's gone to 5. However, I'm worried if the Braves advance, they are going to see the Marlins. Let's face it, the Marlins owned the Braves this year. Will if be any different in the postseason?

Christopher Trotman Nixon RULES!!!
Although we are losing as I type this, there is still hope!
But in any case, the Y*****s need to lose today. The sooner they are eliminated, the better. I enjoy seeing Geogie-Porgie pout!
Good luck to your Braves tonight! You never know what could happen with the Marlins. When did they get good, anyway? I don't follow the NL quite as much, but I remember they won the Series in '97, they sold off all the players, and the team sucked for a while.
I guess they got good when I wasn't looking!
Posted by: Christine at October 5, 2003 3:22 PMHey, good job with the Sox! I like the A's but after last nights game, I think the Sox have a better chance against the Yankees.
The Marlins quietly improved while everyone else was fawning over teams such as the Giants and the Phillies.
At the moment, Braves are losing.
If the Cubs do win and advance to the World Series, I hope it's the Red Sox in the AL for the ultimate match up.
However, I do think the Cubs can do in the Yankees if it boils down to that.
