Final Jeopardy!
October 3, 2003

At noon, WJCL - ABC 22 likes to air year-old/2-year-old reruns of Jeopardy!.

Today's Final Jeopardy dealt with the East Coast. The answer was something to the effect of this island being the only one in the US allowed to use an apostrophe in its name.

Mr. Third Place's guess: What is Riker's Island? Sorry but that's wrong!

Mr. Second Place's guess: What is Staten's Island? Dude, you're down to 2 bucks!

Mr. First Place's guess: What is Governor's Island? "ENNX!" And the winner of Jeopardy is determined by who had the most money after blowing Final Jeopardy.

I didn't even see who won that game. I guess I got a bit giddy over knowing the correct answer. The correct answer is "What is Martha's Vineyard?" The apostrophe clue clued me into thinking that the island's name was of a possessive form. And doesn't Martha's Vineyard imply it's a vineyard belonging to Martha?

LMAO It amazes me how stupid some of those contestants can be. It's like.. Didn't they have to take a test to get on this show?? I'm a couch Jeopardy player... LMAO

They were too New York-centric when thinking of the answer.

Yes, you have to pass a test to get on the show.

I knew they have to take a test... but can't help but wonder... Do they sometimes just pick some of the "stupid" people to make the others look really smart? LMAO!! OH BTW.. Go read my xanga real fast... GOOD NEWS!! WOO HOO!! (can ya tell I'm excited? LOL You'll see why)

As another armchair Jeopardy! contestant, I'm so disappointed. I hate when they're that easy. And "Staten's Island"?! UGH! I don't even need to go there. But what I hate even more is when it's so easy that even the morons on the show get it right... all 3 of them bump up their scores to exhorbited amounts, and higher ratings for the bigwigs *sigh*

Why can't I get on Jeopardy!? It's my lifelong goal. I have contestant serches e-mailed to me from Jeopardy.com. As long as there's no spelling, I'd be set. hehehe

Now and Forever,
Liz

I wasn't watching it, I just heard the question from another room and decided to guess.

I should be a contestant, too. I'm tired of it being dumbed down. I did very well as a child watching it and answering it.

Knowing our luck Liz we would get on there and all the catagories would be those spelling ones... Where you have to spell out the answers... I HATE THOSE!!

It would be my luck, too.
