Tamm & other IE users: If you are getting X's on my page when loading it, place a / after the .com. The pictures will then appear. Unless, you want to save me the bandwidth by having all those X's. *Wink*

"krunchers chips" - I could go for a bag right now. *Yum!*

"Don't forget september 11 2001" - No, we can't. I hate to quote Galaxy Quest about September 11th, but "Never Forget! Never Surrender!"

"funeral home layouts" - That's not something I want to memorize.

"how do I keep my email address from being spoofed" - That's darn near impossible to do. Some creature is bound to do it. However, don't post it on the Internet. That's the best advice I can give.

"nicholas sparks book tour" - I don't know where all the stops will be, but I'm sure my NS fan friend will tell me if he is. *Wink*

"bonkers cat treats" - I know why they call them Bonkers. Our cats go bonkers for them.

"why is this search engine so f_cking sh_t" - That's an interesting way to put it. Ask.com results that land on my page NEVER match what the person it asking. Computers process but don't think. You need to think to answer most questions. Computer are good for "What does 2 plus 2 equal?" but not for most the things asked by users of Ask.com By the way, I censored this query, but I want to include it. I thought it was interesting.

"kim commando get rid of pop-up ads" - I don't know what the show recommends it but the freeware version of Pop-Up Stopper is good if you aren't willing to pay for one, yet. Also, Mozilla has a pop-up stopper in the browser. I enjoy that feature. *Wink*

"lank map of europe enlarged" - About.com has one. You can enlarge it on your own computer.

""heavier things" review" - I'm still getting used to it. However, I love "Bigger Than My Body," "Something's Missing," "Only Heart," "Home Life," and "New Deep." I'd say "Home Life" is my favorite song on it.

"sometimes i feel like i don't belong" - We all feel that way at times.

"meaning behind "right here waiting"" - It was written about 1988. Richard Marx and his then girlfriend at the time, Cynthia Rhodes, were separated. She was in Africa filming a movie and he couldn't join her. He was sad about not being with her and wrote the song to handle the pain and sent it to her. His friends heard it and told him he had to release it since others could related to it. That's basically the story behind the song and Richard and Cynthia have been married for 14 years and have 3 kids.

"35 year old hotties in atlanta georgia" - Now that's something I don't keep tabs on.

"tim spooneybarger pictures" - The only pictures we have of him are the ones Nicki took when she met him last year. I don't know what happened to them. *Sigh*

"Aiden Turner" - He's an ok actor but I can't not be forced to believe his accent is British. He sounds just like my Aussie friend, Shawn. I didn't like they forced his "Aidan" with "Maria" *Yuck!* That was just wrong.

""spongeBob Squarepants" & essay" - Please tell me you are not going to write an essay about that cartoon! *Thumb Down*

"dream first person" - Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

"what happened on april 10, 1984" - Plenty of things. I was only 5 at the time so I don't remember that day.

"places to eat on hutchinson island" - Just the Westin and maybe that golf club. Other than that, you have to come into the city to eat.

"devil rays rookie initiation" - I have no clue what they do down there in St. Petersburg.

"how can i not let people with big diamonds make me jealous" - This is a vain question, in my eyes. Diamonds are not the end of the world. Think of the extra weight those big diamonds add to a body!

Incidentally, I'm leaving for Chicago tomorrow at midnight. Nicholas(I think I am on a first name basis by now) is there signing books tomorrow at 7pm. Damn! Oh well that just means he'll definitely have a stop in CA later in October and I won't miss it. Hopefully not all the way out in Sacramento again.

Nope Shawn, I'm still getting x's even with the / after your url

Posted by: Nicki at September 17, 2003 2:01 PM

Just take the plunge into Mozilla or Firebird.

Posted by: Yog Sothoth at September 17, 2003 4:31 PM

Nicki, try http://www.shawnallison.com/mt/index.php and that will work.

Misbah, too bad he isn't closer to me. Savannah's a nice place to visit. I hope you get to meet him again soon.

You, is Firebird any good? I use regular Mozilla at the moment. (However, I'm replying via IE since I was debugging code with it.)

I'm not getting any X's... And I tell ya... People ask the wierdest things... I can't help but wonder some times.. "WTF?"

Posted by: Dragon at September 17, 2003 6:57 PM

Yes Trish, they do!

Posted by: Shawn at September 17, 2003 7:29 PM

Firebird is a faster, sleeker brwoser-only program from Mozilla. It doesn't include all of the IM, web editing, and email server programs that are found in Mozilla (though you can get plug-ins for most of them).

About "funeral home layouts"--the person searching could be doing some research. I search for cathedral and church floor plans whenever I have time to outline the writing project I have in November.

Posted by: sya at September 18, 2003 4:02 PM

Thanks for the heads up on Firebird. Maybe one day I'll try it and install the mail & composer plugins.

As for the funeral home layouts, that makes sense in how you decribed it, but I still don't know why come here. Do people not read the summaries?

Sorry, I'm miffed at the moment and do need to calm down.

Posted by: Shawn at September 18, 2003 6:30 PM

I definitely agree about the summaries. People searching should read them more often (especially those perverts with only one thing on their minds!)--but sometimes one can get sidetracked. There have been a few times where I searched for one thing and ended up looking at something completely different because the summary sounded a whole lot more interesting than the topic I originally had in mind.

Posted by: sya at September 18, 2003 7:38 PM

I'll admit, some summaries are interesting and I do stop and read them.
