Atlantic Coast Braces for Isabel. NOAA doesn't expect her to hit Savannah but she'll hit somewhere. Those in her path, please be careful! ![]()
Except for the Floyd threat of 1999, we've been lucky and haven't had a hurricane hit Savannah. Any tropical storms that have hit here, have been low grade storms or have weakened back into tropical depressions by the time they hit. They have come in from the Gulf Of Mexico. They usually have brought a nice breeze and plenty of rain. The worst we had here was Earl in 1998. That storm was a pain in the neck that took out half the town's power. Thankfully, that power outage wasn't too long. I remember western Georgia was flooded by Tropical Storm Alberto in 1994. Part are still rebuilding from him.
So, even after Isabel's weakened and back over the Atlantic, we still have to watch out for the next storm. Hurricane season doesn't end until November 1st. ![]()

Oh my go, oh my god, oh my god! We're all gonna die!
*runs into wall*
I'm much better now.
