Interview Game
August 23, 2003

The Rules:
1. Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I will respond and ask you five questions.
3. You'll update your website with my five questions, and your five answers.
4. You'll include this explanation.
5. You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

My questions are provided by Sya:

1. Have you ever had anything hilarious happen to you that at the time did not seem funny at all? Probably swallowing a Hungry Hungry Hippos marble at age four. (This is not the event, that I won't reveal, that is the pondering thought in the Monday Mission 3.33 question #3.) Even at that age, I should have known better than to have a marble in my mouth. However, I was stupid enough to have it in my mouth and swallow it. I panicked probably a week over the marble. I didn't want to drink or eat. I couldn't sleep. I was obsessed with the marble and how it would hurt me.

I look back at it now and laugh. I was not your normal 4-year-old, that's for sure! It's a memory but I'm not scarred over it. If there is anything else, I probably blocked it out.

2. Disregarding the internet and Richard Marx for the moment, do you have an obsession or hobby that people in real life just don't understand? If you don't have a weird interest, an ordinary one would do just fine. What led you to pursue this? The only other "obsessions" I have are I like to collect rabbit items and baseball cards. They aren't too weird to other people. I've just always liked rabbits and with the baseball cards, it is the thrill of opening a package of cards and hoping you'd get the cards you want. "Will I get a Marcus Giles or Barry Zito this time?" "Not another Joe Randa card!" Just like when I was younger and collecting She-Ra sticker book stickers and New Kids On The Block cards.

Edited to add 2:06 PM 8/23/03: I also collect pens, postcards, and lapel pins. I collection the pins and pens because they are interesting and the postcards as a way to see the world without leaving my home. *Laughing*

3. What do you like best about your hometown? Is there any particular reason why? Being an army brat, I have no such hometown. However, since my parents are from Nashville, for me, it's Nashville. I guess I like it best because there is/was always a reason to visit. I have family there. And my grandparents have a pool. I always enjoyed playing in the pool during the summer. It would be fun playing with Josh and Jessica, children of my mother's friend, Alice. In Nashville, we lived like civilian children, not military children.

4. What sense (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch) are you most aware of? Which one do you think you could do without? I'm probably most aware of sounds. My parents might dispute that one. *Laughing*

As for living without, my answer in 5th grade would be the same now. If I lost smell, I don't think I would be too upset. If I lost taste, I'd miss eating pizza and Olive Garden bread sticks but I might be willing to eat broccoli again. Hearing, seeing, and touching are the three senses I try to cherish.

5. If you could control the dreams of your archenemy (if you don't have one, pretend that you do) what sort of things would you have his/her unconscious tell or show him/her? Well, I bet H is living a nightmare at the moment. So, I'll spare her. So, I'll use the Amanda girl I made reference to in the Monday Mission. There's no love loss with that girl so I don't mind this answer. *Evil Laugh* Her dreams would just include someone being a bitch to her and making her feel like scum of the earth. Let me tell her that she can't sit at this lunch table. I'll make her friendless. Let 8th grade be hell for her. Also, let her have the stereotypical appearing-naked-at-a-math-test dream. I would just want her to feel small like she made me feel in junior high.

Oh, I know, I should be the better person and just let it slide and I have. At least I didn't have Godzilla eat her in this dream. Now that would be mean.

This is how that Amanda was such a bitch, at least when it came to me. In 8th grade history class, I was one of two that the rest of the class figure knew all the answers and had to be on the same team with in team projects. She was ready to kill me when I didn't know the answer to a trivia question in a game. I never claimed to be perfect. We happened to be on the same team and I felt as if I was going to get an ulcer from being on her team. Thankfully, our team came from behind to

OOh, interview me!!

Ok what the fudge?? I commented and it didn't register!! UGH!! Anyway what I said was...

It's not so much that I don't want to answer questions, it's thinking of questions to ask people!! Not that I have a lot of people that read me anyway to want to be interviewed so what the heck.. Go for it... Interview me!

That Amanda sure does sound like a bitch. I knew people like her, still do. They do everything they can to make you feel like shit and for what? So they look better and it makes their pathetic little shallow lives seem more full? Ugh

Posted by: Dragon at August 23, 2003 4:26 PM

Laura and Trish, your interviews are on the way.

See why I was so happy to get away from her in 9th grade?

Posted by: Shawn at August 23, 2003 6:07 PM

Cool answers! When I was about three I bumped into a shelf and all sorts of random things started raining down on me. I started crying and my mom panicked thinking I had swallowed some quarters or nails or bolts since these objects were surrounding me. Turned out I didn't.

For a lot of people, smell seems to be connected strongly to taste. If someone had a cold and a stuffy nose, usually everything they taste turns bland. It's like losing two senses instead of one.

Fascinating answer to the dream question. In some ways, psychological trauma is a lot worse than just physical fear.

Posted by: sya at August 23, 2003 6:23 PM

I agree with the psychological trauma lasting. Thankfully, after I left North Carolina, I never let that Amanda person linger in my mind. I haven't thought about her in years, really.

I was thinking of the smell/taste relationship as I was answering that question.

Interview me 2!

Posted by: Craig at August 24, 2003 2:40 AM

Craig, I sent you your questions.

Posted by: Shawn at August 24, 2003 12:09 PM

I guess I'll go for it...An Interview with Chew.

I loved your answers. I think that Amanda chick was probably the same Amanda chick in my freshman engineering class...I despised her. If it wasn't the same one, then there are two really scary Amanda chicks walking around in the world

Posted by: Chewie at August 24, 2003 5:46 PM

ooh, this looks like it would be fun. too bad i can't do it cuz Xanga is *still* being an ass.

i'm off to take a bubble-and-epsom-salt bath! bubbles for fun, epsom salt to take away the muscle fatigue. i'm happy to report that my upper arms are seriously defined! still working on my forearms...more wrist curls(ugh!) but my shoulders, bi's and tri's are HOT!

Posted by: misbah kyrene at August 24, 2003 6:20 PM

Chewie, I'll send you the questions as soon as I can.

And Misbah, does http://new.xanga.com not work for you anymore?

Posted by: Shawn at August 24, 2003 7:57 PM

nope, it doesn't work for me anymore. i am getting sick of Xanga!!

Posted by: misbah kyrene at August 24, 2003 10:12 PM

Msibah, you could always go back to Live Journal.

Posted by: Shawn at August 24, 2003 11:04 PM

i suppose i could but i don't know how to make it as cool as my twilightchild9 Xanga looked. oh well.

i LOVE Sundays. After all that hard work, I love nothing more than taking a loooong soak (which i mentioned earlier) and then being able to relax at home, wearing very little! I am presently chomping on baby carrots for dinner. yum.

Posted by: misbah kyrene at August 24, 2003 11:16 PM

i forgot to add, i'd still like to be interviewed. i can just email the answers back to you. then i'll interview my friend DeDe in Minneapolis. She loves doing things like that.

Posted by: misbah kyrene at August 24, 2003 11:17 PM

Misbah, I e-mailed it to you but there is a way to add a background to LiveJournal.

I'll work on your interview questions as soon as I can. I have another 40 page+ chapter to read for school before All My Children.

Posted by: Shawn at August 25, 2003 10:41 AM

I guess I'll submit as well.

Posted by: Yog Sothoth at August 25, 2003 12:56 PM

Yog, I sent you your questions. Misbah, I also sent you your questions.
