Tuesday Memes
January 28, 2003

First, the This-or-That Tuesday:

Christine, are you testing us on our vocabulary?

1. Kleenex or tissue? Tissue. But usually, we just call it toliet paper. *Smile*
2. Soda or pop (or tonic or whatever)? Coke. In the south, every cola is called a Coke, even if it's a Pepsi! You order a Coke!
3. A sandwich on a long roll: sub or hero (or hoagie or grinder, etc)? Sub.
4. Glasses or spectacles? Glasses. Spectacles in something my grandmother would have said.
5. TV or television (or boob-tube, or telly, for our friends across the pond)? TV.
6. Movie or film? Movie
7. Sofa or couch? I use both.
8. Stove or range? Stove
9. Remote control or clicker? Just simple "Remote." *Razzing My Tongue*
10. Supermarket or grocery store? Grocery store. Also known as "I made a stop at Publix on the way home." or "I'm going to Food Lion."

Tuesday Too:

1.) Are you comfortable spending time alone? Do you actually look forward to that time? Why, or why not? Didn't you read my post below about being alone. Ok, positive times for being alone. I like quiet. Being alone allows me to enjoy quiet.

2.)What's the next best thing to your best thing? Well, I'd need a best thing definded first. *Laughing*

3.) What do wish you you'd done last week/last month that you didn't do? If you're someone who accomplishes everything you set out to do, please let us in on the secret. *zips her mouth shut*

Comments

This or That Tuesday

1. Well, is this to blow my nose or wipe my ass? Kleenex for my nose, Angel Soft *and only Angel Soft* for my ass.
2. Pop.
3. It had better be a valiant sandwich for me to call it a 'hero'. I'll stick with calling it a sub.
4. No one's ever said, "You're making a glasses of yourself." (Glasses, geez!)
5. TV
6. Movie if it's your regular Hollywood flick. Film if it's an indie or foreign feature.
7. Like Shawn, I say both.
8. "Home, home on the stove/where the deer and
the antelope roam..." That can't be right. You cook on a stove not on a range.
9. The Thumb Exerciser
10. A grocery store is generally independently owned with a few other stores scattered around(like Mollie Stone's here with only 3 other stores in the entire Bay Area). A supermarket has chains nearly all over the state or region, like Albertson's or Safeway in CA and Cub and Rainbow back home.

Tuesday Too
1. Yes. I go shopping alone and aside from team practice, I run alone. Those are my favorite times. I cherish them. I depend on them for my sanity.

2. Best thing: Gold at the Games. Next best: Silver.

3. Can't think of anything but I'm certainly not one who accomplishes *everything* I set out to do. I do accomplish a lot though.

Albertson's - they have them in Florida. I've been to one in Jacksonville and it was ok. Reminded me of the Kroger store in Nashville we'd shop at when staying in Nashville at Grandmother's place. "Memories!"

Anyway, the first time I heard of Albertson's was in a TV ad for this contraption that women can use for their periods. It wasn't a pad or a tampon. It was a some cup thing. I was wondering how in the world it would work. I tried explaining it to my mother when I got home from Florida (I was in the Boca Raton area at the time I saw this ad.) So, I always associate Albertson's with that contraption.

5+ years after seeing that contraption on TV, I finally saw another ad for it last year! It was when I was in Alabama with my mother. Nancy had a flyer from the Rite-Aid we were parked at and was glancing over it. She saw an ad for the contraption! As soon as I saw it, I told my mother that was the thing I saw in that Albertson's ad over 5 year earlier. We couldn't stop laughing over this thing and wondering how did it work.

Why am I even bothering to post this?
