3. Dan Black Belt

Every day, your knowledge and understanding increases. In some respects MT-Do is becoming Zen to you, but from time to time, you slip and leave the conscious as just that.

Take the MT-Do test

Why I ask? I know I'm not that great with MT.

Hi. I'm the one that wrote the test, and I should be able to explain your result . Based on the experience I see my personal friends have with using, and modifying MT, I wrote this test, and for the most part, amazingly enough, the results have been roughly correct.

In order to acquire the "rank" you (roughly) have to

- run MT for at least six months
- installed it yourself, with or without help
- written your own templates
- written your own RSS feeds

For the last two criteria, it's somewhat more complex:

If you install and modify a plugin, and make any modification to the MT install files (with or without help), you can reach 3. Dan. OR you can install a plugin, but not have modified it _and_ have made modifications to the MT install files by hand.

The MT-Do test is really a quick hack to explore how weighted and interdependent scoring works in an online tes [1]; Each answer has a default value, and for some of the questions, your answer to previous questions affect the score for that one.

[1] As a secondary motivation, I also made the test to find out something about the mechanism that makes links and ideas spread in the blog community.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't doubt the test so much, as I doubt myself. I am farthest from an MT expert as they come. Or, at least I feel I am.

30 years of experience in handling oneself has taught me that sometimes when one's perception of oneself don't match what an objective test, or neutral third party tells you, the truth usually lies somewhere in between

You're probably right. Then again, I always seem to be one to underestimate my skills.
