Have The Skies Cleared Out?
May 19, 2003

I'm asking myself because I want to mow the lawn. When I first woke up, it looked as if rain was coming in. I'm not mowing in the rain.

I watched Pretty Woman on TBS last night. I've never seen it from start to finish. I saw most of it when it first came on on VHS. Saturday in the car, Matthew, Beth, and I were discussing this movie. I told them what I could remember of the movie and how Julia Roberts exploded onto the scene with that movie. Matthew told me he knew the movie and he had seen it before. *Confused* I would have never taken Matthew as a kid that watched Pretty Woman. It's just not his type of movie. He said he saw it a few years ago in a hotel room when he had nothing to do except watch TV with Grandmother.

Between Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride, I think I like Runaway Bride better. However, I guess I need to add both of these to my DVD collection when I have a chance.

Okay, to today's memes.

First, Participation Positives:

  • Family love & friends' love. *Love* to all! *Smile*

  • Knowing people love and care for me.

  • Being alive.

  • Our animals.

  • Trying to stay positive, even when I feel I can't.

  • I am a college student and I will have a degree.

  • So, I may be single, life is still out there to explore. My life is not a wash. At least I'm not with a scuzzball. I never want to be with a scuzzball.

  • All my friends, new and old, I've met through the years through Internet ventures. *Smile*

Monday Mission:

1. This seems to be the year for movie sequels (Terminator 3, Matrix Reloaded, 2 Fast 2 Furious, LOTR: The return true">of the King, etc.). Is there a movie you would like to see Hollywood make a sequel to? Not realy because sequals ruin what expectations you have for characters after the end of the first movie. However, can they PLEASE redo Speed 2!

2. What movie sequel do you think should never have been made? Speed 2!

3. Are there any books (comic, novel, etc.) that you would like to see made into a movie? Who should star in it? Not really. Why? I don't really like books into movies because they ruin the book when developing for the screen. For example, in 7th grade, we had to read The Lord Of The Flies. When we watched the movie version with that Getty kid in it, the whole class could point out what was missing or changed and we hated that book! I think the best movie adaptation I saw was for A Lesson Before Dying. The movie was very close to the book.

4. When was the last time the you got a shot at the Doctor's office? Do you prefer them in the arm or your backside? Or would you rather just take a prescription? Shots in the arm. The last time I got one, it was probably not a shot but blood withdrawl prior to my gallbladder surgery last year. I much rather take a pill than a shot!

5. Do you make friends easier in "Real Life" or online or is it about the same? Do you have closer friendships in "Real Life" or online? Why do you think that is? Are you ok with that or would you like to make a change? I have an easier time online. (Drats, the sky is darkening again. *Frown*) I wish I had a few more offline friends so I didn't feel couped up all the time.

6. When you first got your drivers license how did you feel ? Did you get it on the first try, second, third, more than that ? Do you have a license ? If no, do you plan to get one ? Why or why not ? I didn't get my license until I was 21 and I was happy and relieved. It took me two chances to do it. Damn that parallel parking! Thankfully, my father taught me to do it in our Ford Taurus until I could do it well enough to pass the test. I avoid parallel parking when I can now except when I go to my brother's school for one reason or another. I'll park there.

7. Have you ever had your tonsils removed? Did you ever come close? Tell me about that. Yes, I was 7-years-old when I had the surgery. I was in the hospital for a week because I refused to eat crappy hospital food. *Big Grin* They did give me ice cream once in the hospital but it didn't agree with me. So I had popcicles the rest of the time. When I came home, I wasn't healed all the way and had a complication. The scabs bled and I vomitted blood (and that's graphic enough!). I had to be readmitted to the hospital over night for the complication. Thankfully, I did survive it.

BONUS: Who's that girl? Madonna! Nicki loved this movie when it premiered on HBO. I was sick of it after the first airing.
