I'm working on my mother's Chatty Cathy/personal site. It's going to take me ALL DAY to do it.
So here is the This-or-That Tuesday while I can:
1. Lying down on the couch, or stretching out on a recliner? Couch baby. That's comfort.
2. Going barefoot or wearing soft slippers? I like barefoot. I still walk outside occationally barefoot. I know it's not healthly but remember, didn't our relatives once walk barefoot?
3. Eating ice cream, or pizza? Pizza! ![]()
4. Watching on TV...a classic movie or a reality show? A classic movie. I didn't go to bed until after 3 last night watching Field Of Dreams.
5. Wearing: blue jeans or sweat pants? Blue Jeans. ![]()
6. A long, soothing bubble bath or a quick, invigorating shower? Give me the shower.
7. Furniture: leather, or something more on the fuzzy side? Fuzzy. Leather makes me sweat and I can't stand sweating while lounging.
8. Soft, classical music, or upbeat rock & roll? Soft rock. You know, the Delilah stuff. Actually, I really don't have a preference except no rap and no heavy metal.
9. Darkness or light? Light. Except I can't stand dawn or dusk. Either be light or dark, don't play with my eyes like that!
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You get married, or otherwise begin cohabitating with a significant other. S/he moves into your place, but brings with them the UGLIEST chair you have ever seen! You really don't want this thing in your home, but SO says it is the most comfy chair s/he has ever sat in, and no way will they part with it. Do you: grin and bear it, or scheme to get rid of the montrosity somehow? Compromise! I'm sure we can find an agreement that he can keep his ugly chair and I don't have to have it in my living room. It can go in the computer room or the garage or the den.
In Augusta, we never parked our cars in the garage. That was storage space for many items and it was my father's "man room." Sure, he had an old black and white TV out there but I remember plenty of Chuck Norris and Rambo movies being watched by him out there. I'm sure my father would have loved an ugly chair out in that room.
My husband can have a man room of his own and his ugly chair can stay there. ![]()

Yes but they also didn't have broken glass bottles and pieces of metal and acid rain and animal diseases living in the ground like we do now.. I love being barefoot but it is a rare occasion you will find me walking around my yard without shoes on. And the main reason I don't have a dog is because of "land mines". Even in shoes... NASTY!!
Posted by: Dragon at April 30, 2003 8:16 PMMy dog stays in his area and I don't go barefoot out to him.
And I don't go barefoot everywhere, just in our front yard occationally. Glass is not in our front yard. Live a little!
I bet they had acid rain during the Industrial Revolution but weren't exactly aware of it at the time.
Posted by: Shawn at April 30, 2003 8:21 PMWhat you don't know can't hurt you! I've gone out a couple times in bare feet.. But I am also allergic(kinda) to bee stings etc and I REALLY don't want my foot swelling up to twice it's normal size.. That ain't living! LMAO
i only ever went barefoot once when i was a kid and promptly planted my foot all the way down on the sharp part of a nail! and not a little one either.
never walked anywhere barefoot again.
Posted by: misbah kyrene f. at April 30, 2003 8:47 PMcorrection: i don't know how to walk, period. you've never seen me trippin' over my own two feet and sh**, trippin' up the stairs, banging into walls...
