That title topic is from Into Your Head by BBMak. My sister told after she first heard it, I would enjoy this album. She's right. Shame it only has 10 tracks.
:
I woke up with this harsh thirst. I know why I'm thirsty. I'm sure having mucus running down your throat while you're sick and sleeping will do it. I guess I should get a few winks in while I can. At least I'm 95% functional. I've got class today and need to go.
So while I'm up, This-or-That Tuesday:
1. Morning or night person? I would be a night owl if the world could all operate 24/7. However, since the world doesn't function that way, I'm a 9-5 person. However, without a job, I have been sleeping in until 10 AM and not going to bed until 1 AM.
2. Heavy or light sleeper? I would say I'm a heavy sleeper. I can sleep through snoring but not a plane flying low and overhead
3. Remember your dreams or not? It depends. Some days I remember. Other days, I can't.
4. Do you need a lot of sleep, or just a little? I like a lot of sleep but there have been some days I've only functioned a few hours. Night of gallbladder attacks are an example of little sleep. Or if we traveling or in case of September '99, leaving town becasue a hurricane was to be coming at us!
5. Do you need something like a nightlight or TV to sleep, or do you prefer complete darkness? Lately, I've been going to sleep with the TV on timer. However, my ideal sleeping enviroment is sleeping in the dark with the radio on.
6. Flannel sheets or some other kind? I have plain old cotton sheets. I have a Martha Stewart set on my bed at the moment.
7. One pillow, or more? More than one!
8. Bedroom door opened or closed at night? I like my door closed. But with Pikachu, I have to have it open a slit so she can open the door when she wants to come in and out of my room.
9. Wrap yourself into blankets like a cocoon, or just cover yourself with them? I like the cocoon the best, except when I'm hot. Last night I was hot and didn't want to be covered in my blanket.
10. Alarm clock: wake to music or buzzer? The buzzer is more annoying so it's more likely to do it's job. But for the most part, I really don't need an alarm because I'm too pumped and have a hard time sleeping. The good thing about traveling is that in the car on the way, I can get some sleep! ![]()
Well, today's Tuesday Too is about what you were doing when you found out about Challenger. I'll just copy and paste what I said in a entry about that accident that was posted BEFORE Saturday.
I was only 7 when the Shuttle exploded but I can remember part of that day in splotches. All I really remember is I loved to watch "The Price Is Right" and I was a little upset at the time I couldn't watch the end of the show. At the time they broke in, I didn't realize the magnitude of what happened.Mind you I was 7 so at the time, I didn't know what was going on. I was home ill that day. I was watching TV and playing My Little Ponies or Barbies. Maybe both. I remember watching all the footage of the shuttle exploding over and over again on all three networks. I knew the shuttle exploded and the people on it died. Heck, I would go up our den stairs and with a toy shuttle model we had, I would re-construct what happened. My mother said it was sick but maybe at that age, that was the only way I could understand what happened. You never know how kids can handle it. We probably spoke about it in school but I can't remember those discussions. I do remember watching the Punky Brewster about the accident. It wasn't until I was about 9 or 10 could I really grasp what occurred that day.

This-or-That Tuesday:
1. Morning or night person?
*A couple years ago, I'd have said "Night owl, for sure!" Ask me now and all you'll get from me is exhaustion-induced hysterical laughter. I function best between 1:30pm-8pm. Before or after that, I need one of those "Hello, My Name Is..." sticky tags to remind me!
2. Heavy or light sleeper?
Thanks to those pranksters at my former residence hall who thought that pulling the fire alarm 3 times a night every couple of months was funny, I am now conditioned to wake up the moment I hear an alarm that loud. And I'm a moderately heavy sleeper too!
3. Remember your dreams or not?
*I remember certain dreams but even then, usually all that's very vivid is the lack of color. I dream in black and white, except for the blue-gray that is the color of Doug's eyes. When he's in my dreams(which happens every now and then, always for two straight weeks at a time), I certainly remember those and try not to lose it(the dream, not my mind...but sometimes that goes too).
4. Do you need a lot of sleep, or just a little?
*When I was chatting with my best friend every night for nearly a year, I apparently didn't...or just denied myself sleep. Now that I'm on an unforgiving training schedule, sleeping is as important as breathing. No sleep=greater risk of injuries. Can't have that.
5. Do you need something like a nightlight or TV to sleep, or do you prefer complete darkness?
*I always have my blinds pulled up all the way. I have the biggest bedroom window in the house. I can only fall asleep if I see the night sky and all the stars. Plus, I have those ceiling stars too...which I stuck in the shape of the state of Minnesota, purely by accident.
6. Previously, satin. Right now, these pricey very-high-thread-count cotton sheets by Ralph Lauren. They are forest green gingham.
7. One pillow, or more?
*Just one, thanks. There are two on my bed but I only sleep with one.
8. Bedroom door opened or closed at night?
*Closed and locked.
9. Wrap yourself into blankets like a cocoon, or just cover yourself with them?
*Um, cover...I guess.
10. Alarm clock: wake to music or buzzer?
*How about wake to rabbits? Nick has a system for getting me up! Every morning around the same time(unless he's feeling ill), he hops up to the topmost level of his castle and proceeds to somehow unlatch the top ladder(connecting 2nd and 3rd level) so it falls and makes a huge noise as it crashes to the "ground floor". I give 'em both some pellets, hay and good morning kisses and then climb back in bed(because it is only 5:30 am). Then they wake me up again by running the Bunny 500 and then hopping on my bed--yes, both of 'em--making their rounds to all the stuffed animals and showering them with kisses. Then they come to me and Nick tugs on my hair and grooms it while Annie "digs" back the covers and thinks its funny when I look at her with only one open eye (she does a happy leap in the air and then proceeds to show off her stunts). They do this every single morning! Trust me, it's better than any alarm clock!
I remember I was in school the day the Challenger exploded. I had just come back from cleaning the tables after lunch(was a program for some of us who couldn't afford lunch all the time so we earned our lunches by washing down the tables after). I went into my classroom and everyone was watching TV and they kept showing the explosion over and over and I remember being enthralled at the whole thing. At that age seeing something like that for me was very interesting. I can't remember if I truly knew the meaning of it all at the time. I might have taken a little while. I really can't remember my childhood that well so it's hard to try and recall it. But I do remember all the lights being out in the class and the TV on that big roll cart they always had.
Maybe I'll do the This or that.. Messed up sleep patterns are my specialty! Hehe
Posted by: Dragon at February 4, 2003 8:57 PM1. I think we all know that I am a night owl! Either that or a vampire. Hehe
2. When I sleep I tend to be a heavy sleeper. That is until someone comes into my room. I bolt straight up then. Then there are other times I sleep light and everything wakes me up. Those days I end up waking up every hour or so.
3. I remember some dreams. Usually the really freaky ones that happen just before I wake up. Like kissing Eminem! LMAO
4. I would prefer to stay in bed all the time if I could. But I can function fairly well on just a couple hours of sleep. When I take Stacker, it can be 36 hours before I get sleep. I'm usually bouncing off the walls for 34 of those 36! Hehe
5. I prefer it pitch black dark if possible but I do need my ceiling fan or box fan blowing. Can't stand the silence. I can hear the voices in my head too much then.
6. Just plain cotton but I do want some satin sheets. They are so smooth. But then I would have to shave my legs or I would stick to the sheets
7. Just one feather pillow lightly fluffed.
8. Door is always closed. Kitties like to take up the whole bed and leave hair all over my blankets so I don't allow them in my room anymore.
9. Just cover myself. I get too hot too easy. I usually have a foot or leg sticking out from under the blankets
10. Gotta have the buzzer cause I doubt I would wake up to music. Never tried it though. I know I can't fall asleep to music cause it makes my mind wander too much and I end up listening to the music too closely and fantasizing.
And there you have it...
Posted by: Dragon at February 4, 2003 9:08 PMOk, it's near 1 AM. I know I should be in bed.
is calling me.
However, I'm up this late becasue my cold has decided it wants to end but it won't end until I get the required sneezing out. And then the sneezes get stuck in my head.
Not good!
blasted cold!
Just remember.. don't try and open your eyes when you sneeze.. it's impossible and you might blow your eye balls out.. Nothing has been proven...
