I Should Be Going
December 31, 2002

but before I do, I have time for the This-or-That Tuesday! *Laughing*

1. Stay in or go out on New Year's Eve? I usually stay in for New Year's Eve. I did babysit for a few of them but I stayed in the house at those, too. See my previous post for my plans this year.

2. If you stay home, do you stay up to ring in the new year, or fall asleep earlier? I stay up late! It's no fun if you sleep through it.

3. If you go out, do you prefer to attend a party at someone's home, or go to a bar/nightclub/restaurant? Well, I did spend New Year's Eve at my parents' friend home in 1992. That was fun. I guess being with friends could be more fun than with strangers. I simply can't answer this question.

4. Make resolutions, or do you not bother? I don't bother. I'm bound to break them. *Laughing*

5. Ever been to Times Square (New York City) on New Year's Eve, or just watched the ball drop on TV? I'm perfectly fine with watching it on TV. It's probably be fun to be there and I did want to try it, when I was younger. But since the Y2K threat and all those wackos out there, Times Square is the prime target for them to do something. I'll stay home, thank you.

6. Toast the New Year with champagne or a soft drink? Water! I don't want to drink. I haven't and never will. Personal choice. I guess I'll be the designated driver!

7. Do you have a special New Year's dinner or not? No *Shake Head*

8. Do you already have your 2003 calendar, or do you wait to buy one until the stores mark them down? I have the 2003 Braves calendar with three former players in it. It was a Christmas gift. *Smile*

9. Take down Christmas decorations: before or after New Year's? We took over tree and lights down yesterday. We used to do it on New Years but now we want them down as soon as we can.

This reminds me of a story my French teacher told my class in high school. Her first year of marriage, she and her husband held on to their live Christmas tree until March. Finally, they threw it out, but waited until no one else in the complex could see them. Dead needles in the hallway gave them away. She said they were so embarassed by it all. I guess she got over it enough to share it with her class.

10. Funny hats and noisemakers, or a quieter celebration? Some noise makers are ok but I'm a person that enjoys quiet.

geezus, i have my own xanga now what's with this sudden laziness? lol...anyway, ta da...presenting my answers.

1. Usually, as I said before--what IS it with redundancy?--I go out and have myself a blast. This year, I'm relying heavily on Matthew therapy.

2. Try to stay awake but most likely end up very tipsy and sleepy at the most important moment. Either that or bang my head on the pillow--less painful than that brick wall-- and try not to cry. My mom JUST now said "He's not online?" I told her nope, when is he ever, lately? So she replies, "Guess he's in someone's bed now, huh?" *ugh* Thank you, mother!

3. Most of my previous New Year's Eves were spent on a riverboat on the Mississippi OR at nightclubs with friends from work.

4. I resolve to never be redundant. Oh wait, I'm already not.

5. Not to my recollection but I allegedly have been. I can't remember. They told me after I came to that I had been very drunk and never saw it[the ball] coming. lmao! i'm totally joking. I've never been to NYC at New Year's but if I were, it'd be to run the Midnight Run instead of standing around waiting for a ball to drop.

6. Well, seeing as how I saw Shawn's bit about being a designated driver and somehow read the question as, "Toast the driver..." I'm guessin, I should stay away from champagne. (well and soft drinks too!)

7. No, I outdid myself on Christmas Eve.

8. Yep. "Rabbits" of course.

9. The tree is taken down, the ornaments saved but the blue/silver snowflake garlands, snow white wreath and my cool snowflake ceiling drape are still up until after New Year's. Because of my mom's frequent soirees and such, we keep the icicle lights around the front courtyard up all year long. We have parties and such all the time out there and it's nice to have lights.

10. I'm not really sure. lol. Never gave it much thought. I wear funny hats any day of the year.

Why yes, thank you mother, indeed. Remind me again and drive a stake through my heart, why don't you!

As for the redundancy in these memes, I have a simple solution. I just link to my previous answer to the same question in another meme.
