Ok, so I don't agree with the person Christina Aguilera is promoting herself as these days. However, I do own a copy of her Mi Reflejo album. I don't speak Spanish at all. I enjoy the music of the tracks written specifically for this album. My favorite track is "Pero Me Acuerdo De Ti." Very mellow music. 
I need to find an English translation that basically suggests the spirit of this song. Ok, found something on Google that suggest that the song is about one getting her life together after a breakup, remember her ex-lover, and then falling back in love again. No wonder I like that song! 
I was out to the store today to pick up a few items and "Everything You Want" came on the radio. I don't know why, but everytime I hear that song, I think it's discussing me. Especially the line "He's everything inside of you/That you wish you could be…" I refused to go into the store until the song went off the radio.
So, tomorrow is New Year's Eve! I'm doing what I've done for the past few years. I'm staying home, pout a bit that I don't have a boyfriend to kiss at midnight, sit with my family to watch the ball drop on TV, hug my cats, then try to go to bed.
Today's Oprah was talking about being over 30 and single and learning to love it. Save that for me in 2008 if I'm still single. 
Why do I let this time of year get to me?
I'll be ok. I promise, I will. Once the calendar turns to January 1, 2003, this pouting over not having a boyfriend for New Year's will disapate.

I know what its like to feel that way! Enjoy the time you are single and be all about girl power!! 
I just found your blog and hope to be an avid reader.
I also adapted your censor at the top of my blog if you don't mind. It seems that some people who disagree with me think its their right to impose their beliiefs on me.

As for Christina, yes, such a waste of such promise. Maybe she'll wake up in 2003. We can only hope.

(i REALLY like that smiley!) cheer up, girl. i've spent many Dec 31sts at glitzy parties and yachts with single friends and what i've found is there's always someone forcing their single cute buddy along. I've kissed cute guys at midnight just by going out and promising myself a good time no matter what. of course, now I'd really rather just stay home and mope...or salivate over Matthew P. anyway, my point is find a party to attend if you can and dress all fancy and just have fun. you're a pretty girl. at the very least you might find someone to dance with.
