Sometimes I Wonde

why I blog at all?

Have you ever thought about it, if you blog? I stop and wonder why I blog and what do I get from it. I feel very self conscious about it when I give my e-mail address to people.

But, then, I have to stop and think about it. Blogging is a way of having a conversation with my friends that I can't easily get in touch with via other forms of communication.

I had a really great day today. *Santa Smile* My mother and I were going to see a friend of hers in a Christmas pageant at the friend's church at 3 PM. Well, the place was packed so we didn't go. So, we rode over to Media Play to see if Nicki was there on her day off. She was and today was a discount day for employee there. We look around the store a bit for shopping and then get her to pay for it to get a discount. I got some reindeer antlers with some bells to wear Christmas Day as I'm helping with the Mysterious Santa.

While we were in line to checkout, I saw this gentleman walk into the store that looked famliar. Guess what? He was. It was the father of my friend Melanie from Girl Scout camp. I hadn't seen this family in over 7 years. I saw Melanie in Media Play and ran (yes, I ran! *Laughing*) to her. Then her mom comes up and we started chatting. They remembered me, too. And then my mom comes up and we spent a few more minutes chatting. I gave Melanie my phone numbers and e-mail address. Before we left the store and left them to shop, Melanie's mother invited us to a sing-a-long out on Oatland Island tonight.

So, my mother and I decided to go. I (yes, I!) baked some cookies to tonight. The event started at 7 and we sat with Melanie and her family. Basically, it was a group of people that get together to sing. Something my mother has been looking for for a while. *Smile* Tonight was the Christmas sing-along night. The event lasted 2 hours but it was fun singing and getting together with Melanie and her family.

Isn't life funny like that? *Big Grin*

During the event, we sang "Jingle Bells" and Melanie's father reminded us about its Savannah connection. Before we went home, my mother and I found the plaque downtown that talks about it. So, there's a little history lesson for you.

Now it's late so I better be going. *Sleepy* time is soon and I have contacts to remove.

Yeah we blog to vent, to share to let unknown people in on our lives and not have to account for it etc... I do it most times to just try and let people know they aren't alone. like when I posted all that crap about my father and my mother and all that.. it was to get it off my chest and to maybe help anyone who reads it and may be going through some difficult time to be able to keep their chin up and be strong. Some times just knowing your not alone is the best help you can get...
