Today is a busy day. I have tons of errands to run today. I'm waiting for Nicki to get out of the shower and get ready so I can go. I have to drop her off at work. So, I'll do the HumpDay Hump while listening to Céline Dion.
Act VI Scene IV: *We are writing our Christmas Cards to send out to all of our loved ones and coworkers and the lot.*
Quiet on the set!! Roll tape..... and....ACTION!!
Christy: I love the Christmas season. The lights on the houses, the trimming of the tree, the buying of the gifts, the wrapping, the family, the guesswork. It's all wonderful. Do you like Christmas? Or is Hannukah or Kwanzaa your thing?
You: I love Christmas! ![]()
Christy: I am a kid when it comes to looking at lights at Christmas time. I think we have been out almost every night looking for the tackiest/coolest Chevy Chase house. Y'all have any special traditions you do at your house for the season? Midnight Mass or family photo or looking at the lights? Anything?
You: My family's thing is going around and looking at Christmas lights. I guess I need to start looking back into going to church. On the way to Augusta the other night, I made a remark to my mother I miss the Advent Wreath.
Christy: We are supposed to have a Christmas party for my hubby's workers. He wants heavy hors d'vours but not dinner. What in the world does that mean? What should I plan on having that falls in that category?
You: Chicken Wings, Pigs-In-A-Blanket. FINGER FOOD! ![]()
Christy: *phone rings and I chat happily with someone for a few minutes then hang up.* That was the lady from the pound. I volunteered to take pics of the pound puppies and kitties for their website. I love animals and photography and volunteering so it all fits. We can't have a pet due to the kids' allergies. I thought you were going to show me a recent picture of your cute little fuzzball, where is that photo?
You: I don't have a recent photo of Pikachu. Just one that's about a year old. Which reminds me, I was going to scan the picture of Princess Jovi that Laura sent me.
Christy: My hubby always tells the story about the year he and his brothers thought they were getting an Atari for Christmas (they had begged and hinted). There under their tree was a box shaped just like an Atari box. They each took turns shaking it the days before Christmas. They were sure that is what it was. Their mom just smiled at each of them building their excitement. Christmas morning came and they ripped into that box like rats into a pack of cheese. There it was in all it's glory....a toilet seat. Their mom laughed. She thought it was hysterical! There was no Atari in any of the boxes. Just the toilet seat for their bathroom! They were devastated! Anything you ever really wanted but didn't get?
You: Not really, if I think about it. My birthday is in December so usually the stuff I want I get then.
Christy: When we were about 12 years old a friend of mine and I opened all her Christmas presents one night to see what they were and then wrapped them all back up. It was crazy and so anti-climatic. Have you ever snooped to see what you were getting?
You: Not really.
Christy: What shall I get you for Christmas??
You: Some new jeans! ![]()
Christy: Well, we better finish these cards and mail them off! See you next week!
You: You too! ![]()

i can guess why you probably haven't received the card i sent you. we've had a couple reported mail thefts in this area. it was on the news last night. it's either that or our carrier is a "newbie" at the USPS which explains a lot. 3 times already, i've had random people in the neighborhood graciously return outgoing mail that belonged to me! either way, it'll probably reach you eventually. sorry about that.
