1. Suppose God (or your deity of choice) grants you one miracle. Consider the world in which we live. Consider your life and family. What would you request for this miracle? Are you sure that is the best way to use it? You only get one. Dang, Promo's out to get us all!
I can't think of a single miracle. Really…sure, I have ideas as to what I want. But what if I use it for something and it's not worth it. Guilt factor alarm is going off right not just thinking about this question. Well, I'll just finish this off with something I heard on Dateline NBC last night: “The miracle you pray for may not be the miracle you receive.”
2. I believe that prayers do get answered, but I realize not everyone agrees. Have you ever had an experience where you truly believe your prayer was answered? If you don't believe in such things, how come? What is your philosophy on prayer? I think I've had many prayers answered.
Most of them deal with my cats' health. As for philosophy on prayer, I try to do it but I forget. Then, I feel guilty when I pray for something.
3. Have you ever lost a pet? That is, have you ever had a pet get loose, run away or be stolen? Did you get it back? How did the loss impact your life? Back in 1992, Pumpkin was missing for nearly a week. It was breaking our hearts he didn't appear. This is where a prayer came true. The night he came home, I kept checking the door every 10 minutes hoping he'd be there. Finally, when I had just about given up, I hear something meow at me. I looked down and it was Pumpkin. I grabbed him and brought him in the house. My mother ran downstairs and the family huddle around Pumpkim, so glad to see him home.
4. Getting together with family at the holidays is great, I just love it. Most of all I love the food. What is your favorite holiday food? The sweets.
Anything sweet I like is fine by me.
5. One thing I've noticed about the holidays is that no one makes Pumpkin Pie like my Grandmother. She has totally spoiled me on her recipe, I just don't like the taste of anyone else's Pumpkin Pie. Are there are dishes or desserts that someone in your family fixes better than anyone else? I like my parents' cooking. I never dreaded eating others' food but my Grandma's food, for the most part. Except her green beans and few other items, everything else lacked flavor, so I was told. I hardly ate anything at her place that wasn't a frozen pizza or Lucky Charms.
6. Since I have no brothers or sisters, I am always wondering what it would have been like. Now that I am older, it kinda stinks that I will never be an Uncle. Do you have any siblings with children? How does it make you feel to be an Aunt or an Uncle? If not, would you like to be have nieces and nephews? Would you make a good relative to them? Thankfully, I'm not an aunt at this point. I'm the oldest child. My two younger siblings are still in high school and Nicki and I are single. One day I'll be an aunt, I know. In a way, I sort of am. My cousin has children and when we see them, they are happy to see us. We're the out-of-town relatives.
7. I am putting together a CD of great holiday music. Do you have any suggestions of what songs (title/artist) I should include? If you can find it, get Superstars Of Christmas, 1995! It has a Richard Marx Christmas song on it! I've only ever heard it twice on radio back in 1995.
The other songs on it are great, too. A few classics are on it. Ok, I also like Britney Spears's Christmas tune, "My Only Wish (This Year)." That's on Platinum Christmas. And I love "Christmas Eve" by Céline Dion!
BONUS: How would you feel knowin' prejudice was obsolete and all mankind danced to the same beat? I'm be happy, until someone decided to open their mouth and ruin the moment.

dangit, a perfect opportunity to copy-paste a meme and stupid Xanga won't let me in. i can't tell if it's a Xanga problem or a problem with my computer. it keeps saying "There Are No Weblogs Here" is this happening with anyone else's? i can't see Trish's or Tamm's site either but i don't know why!
(the last thing i remember is someone else fiddling around with my computer and nearly crashing it after i'd made my last post. i haven't been able to check my Xanga since Sat. night!!)

oh thank goodness!
well in that case, time to answer some memes right here right now. yee haw!
1. Miracles. lol. My entire Christmas letter was centered around this theme. And because I'd rather not kick my own "redundant ass", you'll just have to wait and see what my thoughts were on it. (psst, your letter just went out today shawn!)
2. Life is my answered prayer. I think you know by now, why I say that. I've learned that when you pray for something or someone you want, you definitely AREN'T gonna get an answer, at least not the one you were hoping for. Instead, you'll get what God and His angels decide is good for you.
3. *hugs nick and annie tightly* My father drowned my very much alive fish down the toilet and made me watch. His brother choked my pet frog Mr B to death in front of me when I was 7 (i was selectively mute for the rest of that year!!) and just a year later, I should've known better than to befriend a stray cat. My father intentionally ran over the cat in front of me just to show me i wasn't allowed any fun, love or play of ANY kind. It took me a hell of a long time after that to even get close to a nonhuman creature, much less humans! It wasn't until last year that I was finally able to feel safe loving an animal. That's when Nick came into my life and the rest as they say is history.
4. Panettone!!! I'm a little bit Italian and that is my absolute favorite holiday treat in the world. I have been known to eat half of it in a day, it's sooo addictive. I used to love egg nog but somewhere along the line, I didn't like it so much anymore. I do love some nice and warm mulled hot cider!
5. My mom makes the best rice pudding ever. I've had it at other people's houses and it's never even close! I don't know what she does that's different but that's another thing I tend to get into a lot(she puts the entire big bowl in the fridge and somehow a mysterious spoon keeps digging into it until there's none left.)
6. Nope, not an aunt although I don't think birthorder has anything to do with it(unless your siblings are barely in their teens and are parents. then what are you doing here you should be on Springer!) I definitely can't handle having kids right now and my bro is certainly not even close to mature enough to handle the responsibility.
7. "God Bless Us Everyone"--Celine Dion, for sure! I had it on repeat last night and my bro commented I must really like this song. I told him all the other ones were slightly more religious, focusing on the Christ part of Christmas, whereas "this one's more universal, right?" he said. Yep, it sure is and I like that about it. And of course Celine just sings it fabulously.
Bonus: What exactly is this beat? Cuz y'know, I'm not into house or techno...and that goth stuff, no way. And some beats you can't really get into...
kidding!! Yeah I'd be happy.

well, i have one comment--my opinion of course- but believe in miricals. i have had them and seen them.i dont know who's everyones' God, but mine is Jesus. God The Holy spirit. "the trinity.
you have to expereicne it to feel it and know it--the feeling and presents.
also some prayers are best unanswered. we might be able to handle them or they arent right for us. so, i just say" God, thank you for what i have, and what i dont
I know miracles happen. I just can't think of one I'd want to happen according to the question.
