"Waiting For A Star To Fall…"
November 19, 2002

The November version!

5:30AM local time today was the peak of this year's Leonids showers. Unfortunately for me, I missed waking up for them by an hour. I woke up around 6:30 AM and the sky was already blueish in color. *Sigh*

But as I struggled to get back to sleep, I kept weighing the pros and cons of missing the shower.

The pros of missing the shower are that the last major meteor shower I saw in 1993 scared the crap out of me. Not much has changed for me in 9 years in regards to space matters. Plus, it was near freezing last night in town and the thought of bundling up in the middle of the night to watch some falling stars didn't seem fun. I was much more comfortable in my bed, cuddled up in my blankets and having Pikachu sleep on me. Plus, I dreamt I saw them from my windows and shouldn't that be enough for me?

The cons, well, I really only have two. I did want to see them, even if they do scare me. And they were to be the best in years. I really did want to make a wish on a falling star. *Smile*

And now the memes. *Smile* As promised, the Participation Positives I didn't do yesterday.

  • Family love & friends' love *Love* to all! *Smile*

  • Knowing people love and care for me.

  • Being alive

  • Pikachu sleeping on me.

  • Pikachu loving me like people wish a cat would do.

  • Paying 4 bills yesterday.

  • Registering for class next semester.

This-or-That Tuesday

1. Long or short hair? I have long hair. My mother says I look good with either type of hair. But I prefer my hair long. *Smile* On a guy, however, it depends on how they look with their hair. Some guys look good with short hair (*Big Grin*)and others with semi-long hair.

2. Microwave or conventional oven? I can cook pizza in the conventional oven. Usually when I cook, it's microwave foods. *Laughing*

3. Plain or Peanut M&M's? Plain M&M. I like the peanut butter ones the best.

4. "101 Dalmations"...animated or live-action version? I liked them both.

5. Drink out of bottle/can or pour into a glass?Well, if it's a bottle for one person, I'll drink out of it. If it's a mutliple serving bottle, I'll put my drink into a glass.

6. Sunlight or moonlight? I love moonlight but some days, I can't enjoy it. Sunlight, I like to enjoy for the most part. *Smile*

7. Kermit the Frog or Miss Piggy? That's a toughie! *Laughing* I love them both!

8. Glasses or contact lenses (or neither)? *Laughing* I actually have both. At the moment, I have my glasses on. But when I go off in public, I like to wear my contacts. If there were no risks involved in losing my glasses, I'd do it. But then, reality sets in. There are risks in lasik and similar surgeries and eyes are so fragile. So, I'll stick with my glasses/contacts. *Smile*

9. Action movies or chick flicks? Chick Flicks. *Laughing* The two DVD's I own are Legally Blonde and You've Got Mail.

10. Toilet seat...up or down ? Down! Down! Down! And why can't guys remember to put it down?

Tuesday Too:

1.) Chad has been writing/talking about alternative forms of government. What's your take on a "new government?" I'm fine with our current government.

2.) The last Harry Potter film ignited a "whirlwind of controversy." What's your opinion; is Harry Potter dangerous to children? It's only as dangerous as you allow it to be.

3.) What do you think of this ("What would Jesus drive?")? Get a life? I'm sorry. I think it God didn't want us to drive, he wouldn't have given us the ablility to creat a car. At the same time, I do have a thing against SUV's that guzzle gas.

DAMN IT!! I knew I would miss it. I just knew it. This always happens. They say the best day will be say Nov. 19th but they mean MORNING not night! Damn it all to Friday.. Should still be able to see quite a few tonight. Last year was awesome. Looked like the sky was just exploding! But it was VERY cold!!

It's not to be as cold tonight as it was last night. My mother thinks maybe I did see some last night but I was in that state I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or not.

I guess I rather not see them than see then and be freaked out for the next month.

In 1993, I saw one shooting star that looked as if it would be straight out of "The Little Prince." I ran back into the house like a chicken!
