King Of The Hill? I'm glad I'm not a stick in the mud like "Hank" is but it was nice to see someone making sure the world didn't go into a handbasket.

1. Have you ever had to appear in court? What was the reason? How did it turn out? Yes, in 2000 & 2001. My mother was suing a pair of ladies she hired to make clothing, paid them in full, and didn't get exactly what she ordered. We had to go to North Georgia for court and got nothing but the run around. My mother's just about given up trying to get back the money but the last we heard about this people, their names are being ruined on the Internet.
2. Ever been accused of something you never did? Were you able to convince anyone? Just small, silly things around the house. Remember, I was a "Good kid" in school.
3. When it comes to crime and punishment, do you agree with the saying "An eye for an eye?" It depends on the crime and the suspects. Sometimes, I don't believe in Hammurabi's code. In the case of the sniper, I do. They knew what they were doing and had no remorse for it.
4. Are you a judgemental person? Do you ever make up your mind about a person before you know them? When was the last time that happened? Or if not, how do you keep from being judgemental? I try not to be. It's wrong to do. Yet, at the same time I am. I don't want to be associated with a person that has a totally different set of values and will put me down for mine. I don't need it. I know some of my friends do have different values but at the same time, respect mine.
5. When I was in 6th grade I lit a match in class accidentally and was given the choice of having my folks called or getting 10 "swats." I took swats and damn, that wooden paddle with the holes drilled in it hurt like hell (not to mention the horible whistling sound it made before impact). I don't think they allow "swats" anymore. Ever get "swats" at school? How do you feel about children being spanked in school. Is it best that they don't do that anymore? How about parents spanking kids? Good or bad? I don't believe in spanking in school. However, what can teachers do anymore? In 5th grade, Mrs. Hyatt had at least 4 different boys in my class that she nearly had to send to BAC (in-school suspension) every other week. It didn't seem to work. And out-of-school suspension really makes sense. Give a kid 3 days off from school because they got in a fight? That will teach the kid!
Yet, sometimes the punishment is to hard. A few years ago, a middle school girl her in town took an OTC pain medicine her mother said she could have. The school had a drug search lookdown and found it. She got the 3 days for it. It was on the news and ticked me off. You have to have punishment but sometimes, the school boards never use the brain power they are to have to teach students to find the correct punishments anymore.
6. What is your favorite "Chick Flick?" I'm a chick!
You've Got Mail, Sleepless In Seattle, While You Were Sleeping, to name a few. ![]()
7. Describe the last situation you were in that can best be summed up by the phrase "seemed like a good idea at the time?"
Nicki trying out for American Idol? Boy, did that seem like a crock!
BONUS: Who will bury us when we die? Hopefully my children!

1. I used to work for Hennepin County Government, in the Domestic Abuse Service Center. Part of my job involved going to court as an advocate for the person seeking safety. For confidentiality reasons, I cannot say more. It was a fascinating, challenging volunteer job though that I wish I could've stuck with. Schoolwork took priority.
2. This is where my modesty flies right out the window. I was a damn good employee at the Crisis Nursery where I used to work, so good that they'd i promoted me to Supervisor within 5 months of my date of hire--a position no other twenty-something achieved in the agency's history. Well, that and the fact that 70% of my paycheck went right back to the kids. Anything to make them smile even if only for the 3 days of their stay. Basically I went the extra mile. Well, some of the employees couldn't handle this and were insanely jealous because most of the kids--especially the most SED kids--requested me all the time and wouldn't listen to any other adult. I came to work one day to hear a nasty rumor spread about me abusing the very kids I loved and protected. It was ludicrous. None of my admin. peers or superiors believed it for a second. But it was still really rather unsettling!!
3. Let's just say I hope I never cross paths with the Russian mob. I am sure my views would change instantly!
4. Judgmental? No, never. Capable of misconceptions and misunderstandings about someone before I got to really know them? All the frickin time! And I wouldn't stereotype people if they didn't constantly reinforce those stereotypes the moment they open their mouth!
5. I never got swatted at school. As for parents spanking kids, I think it's just wrong. Spanking doesn't teach anything other than it's okay to spank if someone disobeys you. A child should learn to avoid repeating negative behavior out of self-respect and respect for the parents but not out of fear of being spanked.
6. Fav chick flick, hands down is When Harry Met Sally.
7. Dyeing my hair blue!! It turned the bathtub and ceramic tile wall blue and nothing--even bleach--seems to get it out. Plus, this week I have to get this year's Christmas photo taken at the studio(a very professional studio, not any of the dep. store ones) and I guess I'll have to dye my hair close to what my natural color is because otherwise, I'll have blue-green hair in my photo! And I don't want that!
Bonus: What a morbid question!
Posted by: misbah kyrene f. at November 4, 2002 3:51 PMYeah, the bonus is a little morbid.
But, I would hope my children would bury me. Having children or just a child would just show me I was meant to love someone.
Well, got to at least hope.
you will find someone shawn.
i know you will.
