A Resurgence Of Hootie?
October 14, 2002

I heard "Let Her Cry" twice on the radio on my way to school today. I've noticed that Hootie And The Blowfish has been receiving a bit more airplay of their old songs on the radio here in Savannah. Is it 2002 or 1995?

The guy next to me in this computer lab is failing to understand the concept of headphones. You can listen to music in the lab but with headphones. He's tow computers away and I can hear the music out of his headphones. Anyone want to give him a dirty look for me? *Laughing*

And how about the Anaheim Angels? They won the AL championship last night. *Party On!* My father and I watched the 7th inning together. He's usually not into baseball but he was so tired from working all weekend, he collapsed on the love seat and was stuck watching the game with me. First, it was fun rooting to that 3-run blast by Adam Kennedy to see the Angels take the lead. Then, our cheers turned to gasps to just plain laughter as the Twins were falling apart that frame. It's not like we were laughing because we enjoyed seeing mistake after mistake by the Twins. We were just in disbelief of what was happening before our eyes. Then, the ever-brilliant *Rolling My Eyes* Fox decided that everyone invested in the Twins/Angels game didn't need to see the first 2 outs of the 9th inning. We should be watching the Barry Bonds show! But they didn't even air the Cardinals/Giants game between the start and end of the 9th inning. They showed nothing but commercials. My father and I were angry. We invested good energy and time into the Twins/Angels game and then Fox shortchanges us those two outs. I got on the computer ASAP and e-mail Fox a letter of disappointment and disgust. Would it have been that hard to delay the start of the second game by 3 more minutes? *Angry* I hope Fox got a lot of e-mail and phone calls for the goof.

If the Giants do make it to the postseason, I'm rooting for the Angels all the way!

Hey, I think the guy next to me has turned down his headphones a bit. Oops! Just as I started typing that, I could hear the music again. I think it could be Nickelback he's listeing to.

Monday Mission time!

1. What's the most expensive meal you've ever eaten? What was the occasion? Was it worth it? Usually dinner at the Olive Garden but it's worth the price. I get full on the soup and breadsticks. I can take my meal home and eat that for another meal.

2. What do you like to do when nobody is looking? I like to sing but so many people have walked in on me singing my heart out I just lip sync now.

3. What's your special purpose? When I find out, I'll let you know. *Smile*

4. Do you like Autumn? If so, why? If not, tell me about your favorite season. I think I like spring. It means summer is approaching and it's just so full of optimism.

5. Ever recommended a movie to someone only to have them hate it? Which movie? Did you feel uncomfortable about that? Thankfully, no. However, my mother told a friend once Beloved was the worst movie she ever saw. This friend went out and rented the movie just to see how bad it was. The next time they saw my mother after that, they told my mother she was wrong about it being bad. Bad was too good of a word for it! Beloved was a joke for them after that.

6. I've had hay fever all day! Sniffles, sneezing, I tell ya, it's awful! Do you have any allergies? Anything that just gets you down for the count? I don't have any allergies at the moment. And I suffer from post-nasal drip like my mother. Except I usually don't feel it and it doesn't bother me. But now that the weather is changing, it's getting to me. It's getting caught in my throat and making me choke. *Frown* I've been coughing and gaggin this weekend over it.

7. Do you like mixed drinks? What is your favorite? As long as we're here how about you order me something too? Just "suprise me!" Sorry, I don't drink. I can't see the appeal of getting wasted.

BONUS: Why do we scream at each other? Because talking never works?

1. lol. Does room service at the Crowne Plaza Northstar(Minneapolis) count? No occasion other than you can't stay at a swanky hotel and NOT order room service! Oh and it was definitely worth it! (it also gets expensive when I eat with my good friend Abby. We used to order drinks, appetizers, main course AND dessert(which we always split).

2. Masturbate. (oh god, did I say that out loud???!) Kidding! Completely and totally kidding...*cringes and shrinks down in her seat* lol!! For the count, I don't actually do this. I was just being a smartass(in case you couldn't tell)...lol!! Seriously though, I play with Legos when no one is looking.

3. oh come on, anyone who knows me knows this by now.

4. I loooooove autumn, especially in Minneapolis. There are two pics on my Xanga that reflect my fascination with the season. I also like winter a lot!

5. Yes. Hey, I make horrible recommendations at times. lol. Do I feel uncomfortable? Nope because something I find funny or really great may not suit someone else.

6. When I returned to Minnesota to start my freshman year at college, I had to get used to the winters. It's really not so bad but I got tremendously sick the first time and developed chronic bronchitis....though I'd rather attribute it to inadequate sleep than I would to the winters there because really, they're not that harsh. I'm always terrified of catching a cold/cough because as always it turns into bronchitis. I've had it every year since '95!!

7. Bring it on!! I like Cap 'n Coke (Captain Morgan and Coke). I like the mixed drinks at Blue Chalk Cafe(southern food) here in Palo Alto.

Bonus: Why do we scream at each other?
Um, because we always forget to use our "inside voices"?

Bonus: Why do we scream at each other?

this is what it sounds like, when doves cry.

Did this one over at my xanga... Didn't get that bonus question though!(Bad Melli for leaving that out) So Bonus question....

Bonus: Why do we scream at each other? Because I have to make them hear me above all the other traffic and through 2 panes of auto glass.

(I personally liked Misbah's answer.. lol)

Why didn't I know that was "When Doves Cry!" My mother sings the mother line all the time.

1. The most expensive meal I've ever eaten was at Outback Steakhouse, for my best friends birthday. I paid, and she and I both totally pigged out. It was SOO worth it.

2. I like to stop smiling for a little bit and give my cheeks a rest. But only when nobody is looking!! Don't want to get a reputation as a grouch. Other than that..... I can't think of anything. I sing in front of people, dance in front of people.... heck, I'm a friggin' open book.

3. I can't tell you. It's my secret mission from the ninja space monkeys. They told me not to tell or they'd kill me. You don't want to cross a ninja space monkey, believe me.

4. I LOVE Autumn!! It just seems so crisp and refreshing.... like a nice cold glass of ice water. And there's just enough chill in the air to wear big, cozy sweaters. I have to say that Autumn is my favorite season.

5. Yeah.... I really liked the movie "Signs" with Mel Gibson. I think that it could have not actually shown the aliens and it would have been better.... more mysterious and suspenseful.... but I still liked it. I recommended it to my friend and she and her boyfriend went to see it. They said it was the dumbest movie they'd ever seen. *humph* I didn't feel uncomfortable at all.... I thought it was great. Besides, not everyone has great taste.

6. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, and it's awful. Everywhere you go there are cigarettes. And I feel bad cuz a lot of my friends smoke. It's not a deathly allergy..... but it closes my throat up some, and makes it tender for DAYS after being exposed to cigarette smoke. Blah.

7. Sure!! You mix Pepsi and Mt. Dew, and then throw in a little Sprite..... it's kinda gross sometimes, if you don't mix it just right.

Ninja Space Monkeys? Any relation to the Rally Monkey?

Posted by: Shawn at October 16, 2002 10:02 AM

They said that they are distantly related.... like 3rd cousins twice removed or something like that. They don't claim each other though. Go figure.

Ah, ok!
