I don't know who I'm more pissed at at this moment: my mother or Bellsouth. My mother can never mail a payment to the phone company. She waits until the last minute to go to the service center and pay them. That's not too bad except it the service centers for most utilities are downtown! There's no fü˘king parking downtown. So my mother thinks it's ok to circle around downtown while she sends either Nicki or me into the water or phone company. I tell her I hate this but still, she prefers to do it this way. ![]()
Guess what, the electric and phone have to be paid today! The weather's shit, my mother is off in Statesboro at a school function for Beth, and my father is working overtime. How fun! That means Nicki or I have to pay the bill. I refuse to go downtown. First off, I'm not the one making all the damn phone calls. Second, it's downtown and it's hell downtown. I don't mind the electric since they have a service center that's not in the bowels of downtown.
Now, I should turn my griping to Bellsouth. They don't even have a real service center in town. It's nothing more than a hole in the wall of loan company! There's only two service windows and half the time, one window is closed. It is only there to take your payment. Have a question? Call them since all the people downtown are trained to do is take the payment. It's gross and disgusting. I don't like the condition of this hole in the wall. And it's crowded. Lines are out the door and sometimes onto the street.

I never understood why people feel the need to go to those *payment centers* on a regular basis. The only times I have gone to those places is when I was broke and didn't have the money to pay the bill until they were almost about to shut me off...this was a long time ago! Those places are all gross and disgusting and a waste of time!
We don't run up huge phone bills (or electric or gas, for that matter), so we always have the money to just write the check and send it out when the bill comes in. I have not set foot in one of those *payment centers* in years, and I hope I never have to again!

Posted by: Shawn at October 11, 2002 9:47 PMWhat about finding it online to pay it? Try www.checkfree.com. They have BellSouth as one of the listed companies they work with. It's easy and takes very little time. You can chose to have the money come out of a credit card, checking account or savings account. I use this FREE service for about 7-8 of my bills. A LOT Easier and you choose what day to have the payment made.
