Busy Day!
September 20, 2002

Yap, that's true. I've got class today and have to get ready for my day trip to Atlanta tomorrow.

How about this? It's the current top headline on CNN.com: Fans attack Royals coach. Good for the Royals making a team effot to get those guys. *Smile* I wonder if they did a sobriety test on the son? I wouldn't be surprised in son and pop got drunk together. Yeah, CNN, really smart to cover the boy's face after millions of people saw his face in replays last night and during the actual broadcast of the game.

That's the one thing I dread about the game tomorrow. Sitting next to a bunch of drunks. Last year, the lady next to me got a beer and then spilled a quarter of it on my shoe. I was calm about it but at the same time disgusted.

Last night I watched a program on the Civilization Channel about the Dunedin Star shipwreck in 1942. You think Survivor is tough? The true story of the Dunedin Star passengers stuck on the Skeleton Coast makes Survivor look like is a spa retreat!

Finally, the "Friday Five":

1. Would you say that you're good at keeping in touch with people? I know I'm bad at it. I need to contact my friend Marise in Québec. I just don't have the money to call to Canada. And I'm a bad letter writer.

2. Which communication method do you usually prefer/use: e-mail, telephone, snail mail, blog comments, or meeting in person? Why? E-mail and blog comments. Snail mail is something I can't afford at the moment. I'd love to meet in person but agains, that's a moeny thing.

3. Do you have an instant messenger program? How many? Why/why not? How often do you use it? I mostly use two: Peachy092 on AIM and target="_top">peachy92 on yahoo. I have MSN and ICQ, too, but harldy get on those. ICQ is a bloated mess to get on.

4. Do most of your close friends live nearby or far away? Far and away. It's hard to make friend that would be up to my standards in this town.

5. Are you an "out of sight, out of mind" person, or do you believe that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"? "Distance makes the heart grow fonder," for the most part. I had to grow up that way with my father being a military man and all.

Comments

1. I'm excellent at maintaining correspondence as long as the the person with whom I choose to keep a friendship reciprocates. Or if I know a friend is just horrible about it(like Katie, one of my best friends I've known for 10 years), I settle for random out-of-the-blue emails. One of my best friends I lost contact with for 2 years but when I hung out with her again, nothing had changed. Some of my best friends are just that way and I've learned that there's nothing wrong with that. But I know when to pull the plug.

2. Email, mostly. Snail mail sometimes just to brighten someone's day. Definitely IM. I go up to MN to visit my friends there every year until I move back myself. I almost never call. I hate the phone.

3. Yes, I am athensgold on Yahoo and paidvacation9 on AIM. I also have MSN but it's private, no-access. lol. Only one friend is listed and that's fine because it's his and mine.

4. Far away unfortunately.

5. I'm not sure how to answer this, really. Since most of my friends live so far away, I just keep in touch with them however I can and see them when I can.
