I soak up useless trivia all the time. I picked up a bit today.

First, we were sorting our Beanie Babies collection today. First, I saw Mac the Cardinal and had a good chuckle. Then, I came across Rocket the blue jay. I said "Rocket the Blue Jay. How funny. Ha. Ha." as I put it down. My mother wonder what I had against the name Rocket.

And this is how ingrained baseball is in my life. I told her that "The Rocket" is a nickname for Roger Clemens (I still wonder how you can miss his butt!) and that he was a Blue Jay. A few years ago, I would have never caught that. I was lucky to know the name of a few players back then.

Also, during the game tonight and last night, TBS has been airing an ad for Heartbreak Ridge to be played on Thursday. During the ad, I only got a glimpse of a nose. I kept saying to myself "I know that nose!" It's "David!" "David" from All My Children, as played by Vincent Irizarry. I finally had a chance to see if was him. Sure enough, it is.
