This is going to be a long entry!
I had a weird dream last night. I dreamt I was in a pageant in PA. Tamm wouldn't come and I was upset over that. Also, the director of the pageant lent me a dress. It was a pretty pink but the shoes with it were bright red. I spent half the day of the pageant in the bathroom trying to put on concealor on all over my face as a base but it didn't work.
If that isn't weird, then here's the weirdest part of my dream. The ghost of Lee game and tried to comfort me. I thought it was very nice of Lee to hug me and try to make me feel better but part of me was "We can't do this. It won't work." Then, I woke up.
You see, there should have never been a ghost of Lee. As far as I know, Lee's not dead. Lee was just a great guy that transfered to Albritton the middle of 7th grade and left right after 8th began. He wasn't even my type of guy. To be honest, he was black. At that time right there, he was off limits but not off limits as a friend. He was always cheerful and sweet to everyone. And he was very smart. All the teachers loved him. He was just a great guy to have in class. I do wonder what got me thinking about him. ![]()
It's 10 AM now and I'm at school. Nicki had to go to work this morning and since the school is just around the bend from Media Play, I decided to come here and get on the computer.
Speaking of school, it's "Friday Five" Time! And it's about school!
1. What was/is your favorite subject in school? Why? Social studies, for the most part. It was the class I did the best in.
2. Who was your favorite teacher? Why? Mr. Golson, I guess. His class was interesting and for me, easy. He just won the run-off for his party for school board president. My brother (who had him, too) and I, who identify with the Republican party more that the Democratic party, are going across party lines to root for him. I'll probaby vote for him. ![]()
3. What is your favorite memory of school? Actually having friends in 9th grade. That was cool. Winning the Geography Bee in 6th grade. That was a blast. :laugh :At Irwin, there was this kid, Bill Burgess. He was a megabrain and always won the spelling bee. Most students couldn't stand him because along with his brain, he was a snot. Even some teachers could stand him. Well, he was in my 6th grade homeroom. Our class had to do a test for the Geography Bee. The least missed by the class on the test was 8 our of 30 question. That happened to be my test paper. All the kids assumed it was Bill until Mrs. Paul yelled "No, it wasn't Bill!" Then the puzzle was who did better than Bill and everyone was drooling for the answer. Mrs. Paul said it was I that got the best score on the test and that I'd be going to the school Geography Bee. I later went up against Elizabeth Oakes, the daughter of my sister's dentist. I edged her out by one question. My mother spoke to Dr. Oakes and his wife and they congratulated her for me winning and even they admitted they were glad it wasn't Bill Burgess that won. They were happy it was anyone but him. Elizabeth and I were in class together at Albritton and because of that outcome in 6th grade, in 8th history, everyone wanted one of us, it didn't matter, on their team in team question games. The one time we ended up on a team together, the rest of the class threw in the towel before the game began. Ah, maybe Irwin and Albritton were the best years of my life?
4. What was your favorite recess game?I only ever really had recess at St. Mary's. In 1st grade, Dana Roggie and I would chase Sheldon (a kid I knew from Kindergarten at Big Pine) around the playground everyday for fun until he bit Dana's ear.
5. What did you hate most about school? Getting there early, mean teachers that actted as if theirs didn't stink. Mrs. Bogan using me as her personal insult whipping post. Oh, I hate her so much! There's compassion while being strict, there's strict and playing when you're not full of business, and then there's strict and not giving a damn about your students. She came across to me as #3.
Hmm, I guess I should stop blabbing and get to reading! ![]()
