I've signed up for Blogger Insider. My partner this round is Nathalie of Babs:A Day In The Life She'll have my questions on her site. These are her questions and my answers.
1. On Friday, July 14th 2000 07:23PM in your scribbles journal you wrote that crying is your best friend. I can somewhat relate. You mention that nothing cheers you up like a good song. Do you remember what song cheered you up that night? Is it the same song that always cheers you up?
The song that probably cheered me up was "No String Attached" by *NSYNC. I was on a hugh *NSYNC kick at the time. Cheer up songs for me vary from day to day and mood-to-mood.
2. In "Dear God" The writer's note mentions a surgery. I wasn't able to find reference on your blog to this. Would you mind talking about that a little bit?
Don't mind at all. I was having gallbladder removal surgery. It was back on March 4th of this year. Gallbladder problems run in my family and I had been having gallbladder attacks at night since September. One of the more minor surgeries out there, but after complications from a toncilitomy that had my scabs bleeding when I was 7, I was very scared at the time.
3. Can you describe your most memorable vacation?
I've had quite a few! Going around the Magic Kingdom at age 15, having a fit over $20.00 is something I'd like to forget. I thought my sister had lost $20.00 when I was at fault at leaving it at my cousin's home in Jacksonville. At that age, moeny was tight in my house and $20.00 was a big thing for us. It's a little thing, I know now, but I was still growing wiser back then and had to learn that lesson.
Also, I remember this trip home from Nashville when I was 11. At the time, we lived on Ft. Bragg, NC. It was a long trip across two states, including the mountains. Our station wagon blew it's engine out in the middle of Knoxville traffic. 6 people - my parents, myself and three silbings - and a German Sheppard in the middle of a summer thunderstorm in a town where we knew a total of 2 people. I don't know who was more scared - my parents over the engine or the dog about the thunderstroms. Then to have an 11-year-old, a ten-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old crying over the heat and being bored didn't help much. Thankfully, my father's uncle lived in town and helped us out while we were there and my parents had a warranty on the vehicle.
4. There's nothing that hurts more than trying to help someone you love but have them push you away. Has this ever happened to you?
All the time now, it seems. My mother gets upsets from time to time over my siblings, money, you name it. I try to make her feel better but she says I can't help her. In turn, I get upset and depress. It isn't fun. ![]()
5. Isn't it great to be low maintenance? Have you ever had anyone look at you like a complete idiot because you told them you can to go from out of bed to out the door in 15 minutes? I know I have - and I've done it with a shower in the morning.
Yes, it is! I was out of bed and on my wy to work in 30 minutes. I don't wear makeup and everything else taken care of before I go to bed. And thankfully, if I can't wash my hair before I go to bed, it doesn't take long to towel dry and use 2/40 to dry it - 2 windows at 40MPH. And it doens't hurt that my work is only 10 minutes away in heavy traffic.
6. I've seen you mention Billy Joel. Personally, I relate to "She's Always A Woman". Other than "My Life" what song of BJs do you relate to the most?
I love "She's Always A Woman." I wish soeone one would sing that about me.
Also, I like "River Of Dreams." I can't relate to it but it was a hit song in 1993 - ah, memories! I can relate to "I Go To Extremes." Why? Because I have gone to extremes some points in my life.
7. Nice CD collection. Is that your entire collection? Are there CDs that you omitted from that list for one reason or another?
Ah, you caught me! The one CD missing is one titled "…Believe" by an independent artist by the name
