For Once, I Did 8 Hours Of Work.
April 29, 2002

Which is why I'm late this week:

Monday Mission

1. When was the last time you pampered yourself? I can't remember. I think everytime Nicki and I go on a trip, I'll take it easy but something causes me to blow my lid. Does going to Media Play and buying CD's count?

2. When was the last time someone pampered you? One October '99 day when I had a hair cut and manicure. I've trimmed my hair since then but I haven't had a real hair cut since then. My mom told me the other day my hair reminds her of Dyan Cannon's hair, except I'm not a blonde. I guess I do need some pampering, soon.

3. Describe the last time you recall really feeling loved (other than from children or pets). Ask me on my honeymoon in November '04! Just kidding on the honeymoon thing.

4. Has your use of the computer ever caused any arguments? What's the story there? Too many to argue. Most arguments were between Nicki and myself over who's turn it was to use my computer. Since getting a third computer, the war is a three way one between Nicki, Beth, and my mother.

5. What's the most embarrassing thing your Mom ever did? Ask me when I get engaged in March '04!

6. I've met some adults who've never learned to swim, and others who never learned how to ride a bike.. Is there anything that you never learned as a child that you probably should have? I read Liz didn't learn to tie her shoes until she was 16 so I don't feel bad waiting until I was 12 to learn. I couldn't ride a bike until I was 9.

7. I have no idea who said it (and I spent all of two minutes trying to research it), but "someone" once said, a picture is worth a thousand words. Post an image that says more than words. Or instead, describe a picture you recall which touched your heart.
Pumpkin

This is Pumpkin back 1998. Any photo of him touches my heart since I recall the 17½ we had. He was more human than cat.

BONUS: What's love got to do with it? "Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?"

Monday Memories

Do you have a memory about a secret place? Where was it, what did you do there, did you keep anything there? The only secret place I recall ever having was a part of our back yard of our house in Augusta. I was 6 when we moved in and 10 when we left Augusta. It wasn't really secret since my parents knew of it, but in the bushes, there was a clearing that only kids could really get into. It was a secret place to hold "club" meetings. Or a house if we played house. It was cool.

we used to take clothes horses out into the garden and drape them with blankets to make "secret" places to hold "club" meetings!

when you look back on these things they seem so funny.. they do to me, anyway

Yes, they do but they brought such joy when we were younger.
