Monday Mission

1. As a child, did you ever wish you had a different name, maybe a name you wish your parents had chosen? To what would change it if you could? It's too late to change "Shawn" as I've been using it for over 23 years. I'm too conditioned to it. But I wish my parents could have named me some name that you instantly knew was a girl's name. People assume I'm a guy just off my first name. Maybe had my parents called me Allie or something. Just something people knew was a girl. Logan and I had a conversation in math once in school that if he became a famous writer, he'd go by the name "L. Wright Johnson" to be mysterious. I said I'd go by "S. Allison Latta" because that way, people would know I'm a girl.

It's funny that Nicki and Beth got nicknames.

2. What skill have you been wanting to learn but have just kept putting off? There's plenty I'd love to learn but lack the time and money for it. One is Linux. My father bought me the Mandrake Linux for Christmas. It looks as if it's a great program but I don't think I partitioned my drive correctly. So I haven't used it for much. I really wanted to try out The Gimp. Hoever, I don't think I could use it on the Internet. But then again, I don't know becase I have played with it.

Also, I'd love to play the guitar. But I don't have one. Maybe instead of a vacation, I'll get one next time.

3. Are there any regional foods you love but just can't get where you are living now? (burger chain, ice cream shop, etc. that was in your hometown but has no locations where you are today) Not really. Thankfully, I've always lived in a town with a Krispy Kreme and spoiled by the fact you don't have to wait in too long of a line for doughnuts except when the "HOT DOUGHNUTS NOW" sign just turns on. I don't think I could live in a town without one.

4. What recreational activity would you take up if you had the time and/or money? Playing the guitar.

5. What's the biggest lie you've ever told? Has anybody ever found out? I try not to lie much. So I can't really answer this question.

6. What was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon when you were growing up? "Shirt Tails"! Anyone remember them? I loved "Hello Kitty", too. I liked "Laser Tag" but it would hardly air in Augusta.

7. Let's say one of your relatives slipped you a $100 bill, to help you out for the month. Your significant other didn't see it, would you tell them or keep it to yourself? I wouldn't tell them. Sorry, I'm just that way. I know it's wrong but the $100.00 would be spent on things I could slip past him. But don't you have to have a guy, first?

BONUS: Whatever happened to Saturday night? "The Golden Girls" left the airways, leaving a void that could never be filled, even ten years later.

Hey! I have to tell you... I like your name! You mentioned the name Allie? My sister's name is Alisha, and she has always went by Ali! I hate it. It just sounds silly. I would rather her go by Alisha...oh well, just thought I would tell you that! LOL!

Dang, I wish I lived up in Nashville. We could have so much fun together.

Seems as if I'm the only one that doesn't like my name. Maybe I'm the weirdo!
