Staying Dry

If you have been watching the news today, you will have seen that it has been horrible in Atlanta! For the past week, we have had rain. I thought yesterday it would be over, but it rained all night. I had to work today, but it was slow at work, and many people did stay home.
Beth and Ben left late this afternoon. My father didn’t want them to leave because of the weather. They finally left around 3. Good thing they took I-285 and not I-75 through Atlanta. They did get home safely.
After I got home from work, my father (who is staying with me while on assignment at Dobbins ARB) and I went to the grocery store. The Chattahoochee River is flooded. The river was just about 3 feet under the Power Ferry Rd. bridge. There was a tree in the middle of the road by the Publix. We saw a minor landslide in the parking lot. When we got back, I went out to the river and took pictures, like the one above. That is a picture of a picnic table at the river area at my complex.
The Governor has declared a state of emergency for my area. I’ll have to see in the morning if work is on.
